Franchising is a massive industry with over 800,000 locations in the US, nearly a trillion dollars in annual consumer spend, and a rapidly growing footprint internationally. Multi-unit operators account for over 50% of all franchise locations, yet the tooling and infrastructure to build and scale these portfolios is fragmented and outdated. We're changing that, backed by leading investors, angels, and franchise industry leaders.

We're looking for an Applied AI Engineer to build the AI agents and supporting systems at the core of Glidepath. From franchise discovery and matching through portfolio management and growth, our agents deliver real value to our users — and we need someone who can turn frontier AI capabilities into reliable, user-facing product experiences.

You'll work at the intersection of product, engineering, and AI — designing agent architectures, building evaluation frameworks, and shipping AI features that operators and brands use every day.

• Design, build, and optimize the AI agents and LLM-powered features that are critical elements of the Glidepath product
• Develop agent architectures including tool use, planning, memory, retrieval, and multi-step reasoning
• Build evaluation frameworks and feedback loops so we can measure and continuously improve agent quality
• Partner closely with Data Engineering to shape the data and retrieval layers that power our agents
• Collaborate with Full-Stack engineers and Design to integrate AI capabilities into polished, user-facing experiences
• Stay on the frontier — evaluate new models, techniques, and tooling and bring the best of them into our stack
• Inform product direction by understanding what's newly possible as AI capabilities evolve

• 4+ years of engineering experience, with meaningful hands-on experience building LLM-powered or AI-native products in production
• Deep familiarity with the modern AI stack including foundation model APIs, prompt engineering, tool use, agent frameworks, multi-agent and long-running agent coordination, memory and retrieval, agent harnesses, and evals
• Strong general software engineering fundamentals and ability to build production services
• Product-minded: you think critically about what users actually need and use AI as a means to deliver value
• High ownership mindset: you take agents from prototype to production and hold yourself accountable to a high standard
• Curious and ambitious: you love going deep on the frontier of AI capabilities and turning them into real product value
• Bias for action: you ship quickly and measure honestly without waiting for perfect conditions or complete information
• AI-native in how you work: you use AI coding tools to amplify your impact and velocity. Even if your current company doesn't lean into AI, you regularly use AI tools personally, and you're eager to work somewhere that leverages AI as a core pillar
• Startup or early-stage experience is a plus
• Interest in franchising and local businesses is a plus
